These records are lists of students prepared by the counties and school districts. School records can be a viable substitute for birth records. These include the names of both black and white students. The early records include the names of students and the school they attended. More recent records include the age of the child and a parent or guardian's name. Not all information on the records have been transcribed, only the guardians and student names, race, sex, age, and the page that they appear on have been transcribed. Some Carroll County records include students from Leflore, Montgomery, Grenada, & Holmes County.
